In which the Ravyn responds to the Friday Five.
1. What was the first type of cheese you ever ate?
Probably "Process American Cheese Food Product" which back in the day was just American Cheese: white, bland, unobjectionable (unless it sticks to the roof of your mouth). My mom didn't like cheese much, so we didn't eat a lot of it when I was a kid.
2. What was the type of cheese you ate most recently?
The default around here is smoked cheddar from Seaside, imported from the UK.
3. What is the most unusual cheese you ever ate?
Probably Raclette. We didn't have the Swiss-style toasting machine, so tried to improvise. It was tasty and we got rid of the stale gym-bag smell, so we must have done something right.
4. What is your favorite cheese?
Nice sharp Wisconsin cheddar.
5. What is your favorite dish made with cheese?
A friend shared a recipe for a cauliflower cheese bake dish, with a creamy cheese sauce. It's quite tasty if done well. Herself who taught herself to make a roux, which was one of the steps in the recipe, has long since moved out. I should try it for myself sometime.
